BM09: The Hardware Sign

September 12th, 2009
Series: Burning Man 2009, Photographic Evidence

We had some new signage this year – the old sign was taken apart and the main panel was turned into a flag. Scott made some additions to the leftover frame, including a rotating 30-inch saw blade and some parcans for lighting. The windchimes were re-attached, and a new skull and cross-wrenches completed the project, and I couldn’t stop taking photos of it!

Black Rock from Above

Series: Burning Man 2009, Photographic Evidence

Through some good networking and the luck of the draw, we were invited to go up for a scenic tour of Black Rock City. To see it from above brings a brand new perspective on the festival. It’s a piece of art in itself:

I love the tracks from vehicles that criss-cross the ground around the city. And I can see where we camped at 4th of Juplaya from here – it wasn’t far!
